Welcome to my website dedicated to the Czech capital, Prague, the city on the Vltava River!
My name is Petra, and I was born in the Czech Republic in the 1970s, where I have lived my entire life.
I started exploring Prague with my grandma when I was a little girl. To be clear, the Czech Republic was a communist country until 1989, far from being discovered by the world as a tourist destination.
The center of Prague, with all its historical monuments, was half empty. You could visit Prague Castle without standing in line or showing your backpack to the castle guard. You could take a leisurely stroll across Charles Bridge without bumping into a crowd of tourists or stand quietly under the Astronomical Clock and watch the apostles making their rounds in small windows every hour.
The situation changed quickly in the 1990s when Prague opened up to tourism after the so-called Velvet Revolution.
Visitors from all over the world came to admire the beauty of Prague city, quickly filling the historic downtown and sites with the most famous sights.
If you're wondering which places these are, why to visit or avoid them, join me on a walk through Prague. I will show you the most exciting tourist gems, but also the places locals recommend that are worth visiting and still not yet discovered by visitors.
You might just fall in love with Prague and want to visit this amazing city. Let my website serve you as a valuable guide!
